Why it works: instant common ground.

Hello [Name], I came across your profile and your work in [field] stood out. I'm [short intro]. I'd be happy to connect if you feel the same.

Why it works: respectful, specific, and leaves the choice with them.

Matrimony · shared city or roots

Hello [Name], I see we're both from [city/community], always nice to find similar roots. Happy to share more about me if you'd like.

Why it works: shared background matters to many families; the tone stays warm and polite.

Avoid

Openers that get ignored

"Hi", "Hey", "Hello beautiful": they give the other person nothing to reply to, and busy inboxes skip them.
Compliments on looks only: they signal you only looked at photos. Save compliments for later.
Paragraph openers: five sentences feels like pressure. One or two is enough.
Asking for their number straight away: chat on the app first. It's safer for both of you.
